MONTHLY BEAT: RAISING VOICES is CIRCA-Pintig's monthly GLOBAL VIRTUAL open mic event.
The PEOPLE'S ARTISTS FUND will support individual artists and arts groups from different generations, backgrounds and artistic traditions based in the US, Canada and the Philippines. From theater and spoken word to music and visual arts, these artists are among the best storytellers in our communities. Their works speak about ordinary people and their lives; the stories of our people. You will be sure to know any of their characters -- magulang (parent), anak (child), kaibigan (friend), kapitbahay (neighbor), kasama (comrade) -- each one caught in the brutality of the Philippine government's failed policy on the war on drugs or gross mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The PEOPLE'S ARTISTS FUND will also enable CIRCA-Pintig to continue their work of featuring and popularizing artistic creations through its "Monthly Beat" events. These are powerful storytelling events that cast a bright light on the marginalized and their sturggles as well as their hopes whether in the Philippines or in the US or anywhere in the world that they call home.
